Aside from the Gamboa vs Ponce De Leon match that I’ll be watching this weekend, there will be another boxing event that will be happening in the Philippines involving the best fighters of the Philippines versus the best boxers of Mexico. The said event is dubbed as PINOY PRIDE 8: Philippines vs. Mexico (PP8) which is scheduled to happen on September 10, 2011 at 6 PM  PHT/GMT+8 at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City.

Pinoy Pride 8: Philippines vs Mexico

The main event for the said boxing showdown will be the fight between the World Boxing Organization Intercontinental flyweight crown holder 23-year old Milan Melindo (22-0-0 8 KOs) who will be defending his title against the veteran boxer of Mexico, Fransisco Rosas (22-8-2 13 KOs). However, recent weigh-in resulted to a disappointing overweight failure for Rosas that cost him his title if in case he wins against Melindo. So this mean that the Filipino boxer should deal with this overweight opponent.

Beside the Melindo vs. Rosas match-up, other fights that will be feature on this event are the bout Jason Pagara (27-1-0 16 KOs) versus Rosbel Montaya (12-2-1, 11 KOs) and Genesis Servania (14-0) versus Gerson Guerrero (34-8, 26 KOs).

The Pinoy Pride VIII: Philippines vs. Mexico will be televised live by ABS-CBN Channel 2 in the Philippines and will be rebroadcast by Studio 23 later. If you want to watch Pinoy Pride 8 online, you can return here this weekend to witness this great bouts.

Note: Other boxing event that you should watch out this September 2011: Gamboa vs. Ponce De Leon on September 10, 2011, Mayweather vs. Ortiz fight on September 17, 2011.
