Jeremy Lin is Now Rockets’ New Point Guard
The New York Knicks finally decided to pass on Jeremy Lin and say goodbye to Linasity after the Knicks decided that they wouldn’t match the Rockets’ three-year of $25 million offer for the restricted free agent to Jeremy Lin. The New York Knicks finally let go of their 23-year old point guard and said that Linasity would have only a one-season left run on Broadway.
Jeremy Lin, who went undrafted put of Harvard, became an international phenomenon and the biggest story in sports during one dazzling month in the Big Apple, however, New York Knicks realized that keeping the show in town would cost them too much.
The New York Knicks was only left with until midnight to equal Houston’s offer but they decided that the evaluation was too steep for their resources for the meantime. If you can still remember and if you are a fan of Jeremy Lin, you will surely recall how he exploded onto the NBA scene last season. His livewire performances made headlines around the globe and it was a season of great performances for the Knicks. However, it was in March when Lin’s breakout campaign was cut short after he suffered a season-ending knee injury. Because of this injury, he missed the playoffs after averaging 14.6 points and 6.2 assists in a total of 35 games during the lockout-shortened season.
Since Lin is no longer part of the New York Knicks, we will see more of him during the next season with the Houston Rockets.
