Serena Williams proves her worth as an athlete as she wins this year’s fifth Wimbledon. She is definitely back on track and back on top!
Going back at last year’s Wimbledon, it was the time that low point came to Serena Williams, the time when she was hours laying around her home, overwhelmed by a depressing series of health scares and threats that sent her to the hospital repeatedly and kept her away from tennis for 10 months and longer.
But as the old saying goes, if you stumble and fall, just learn to rise up again. Last year was definitely not the end for Serena because even if she stumbled and fell down, she is totally willing to rise up again and fight. At last! The high point of Serena came on Saturday on Centre Court at Wimbledon, when Williams dropped down the grass, hands covering her face. She was all the way back, a Grand Slam champion yet again. Yes! Victory was hers once more and she will not let go of it this time!
What made her win the game is her serve which is as good as there is and her grit was as good as ever. Starting from the start up to finish, Williams was dominant as ever. She defeated Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland with scores 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 and this made her win the fifth championship at the All England Club and 14th Major title overall, ending a two-year drought.
“I just remember, I was on the couch and I didn’t leave the whole day, for two days. I was just over it. I was praying, like, ‘I can’t take anymore. I’ve endured enough. Let me be able to get through this’,” recalled Serena Williams. She has recovered and the trophy is absolutely for hers to grab.
