Sony Reveals PlayStation 4 One Week Before Release

PS4A week before it was scheduled for release, Sony already revealed its latest model of PlayStation 4 and it was very proud to announced that it is bound for launching the following week without even showing anyone the hardware, for the shot of surprise. It took us months to wait for E3 in Los Angeles to see the new black box and even hardware architect Mark Cerny was kept in the dark just to prolong the suspense but right now, it wasn’t that hard for anyone to see the sharp, angular new look of PS4. But the most interesting part of it was when the innards of the gadget was finally revealed.

Sony engineering director Yasuhiro Ootori both unboxes and tears down the new console, exposing its metallic internals for everyone to see. There’s a satisfyingly chunky heatsink and a predictably small fan, squeezed in alongside an integrated power supply and the usual circuit boards and components. You’ll also find some external details that may have slipped your attention so far, such as the tiny power and eject buttons nestled in the fissure that dissects the matte and glossy parts of the PS4.

Everybody is now counting the days before the one week target will finally arrive. With only a week to go until the PS4’s US release, this will likely be the best view the world gets of the new console before being able to stump up the $399 and take one home. Everybody is looking forward to it.

Apple Launches New Product ‘iPad Air’

iPad AirThe mobile product drought that Apple Inc. has experienced for the last month has finally ended when the consumer electronics giant launched its new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c handsets, especially even if  pent-up demand is an understatement.

Apple’s early opening for their weekend sales records was crushed by new iPhone models and even if the company do not share the exact split between different models in a product line, it is likely safe to assume that the iPhone 5s is actually the fastest selling smartphone in the history of the category. But right now, Apple has came up with a new idea when it launched what it called its ‘iPad Air’.

The all new full-size iPad is thinner and lighter than any of its predecessors by a substantial margin. In fact according to Apple, the iPad Air 28% lighter than the fourth-generation iPad model — and at 7.5 millimeters thick, it’s also 20% thinner. Despite the slate’s smaller footprint, it still packs in the same 9.7-inch Retina display as well as a bigger battery that lasts an estimated 10 hours per charge.

Apple Inc says that the new A7 processor in the iPad Air provides up to 2 times better CPU performance and up to 2 times better graphics performance than the A6X-powered fourth-generation iPad model. It’s the same 64-bit chipset that powers Apple’s iPhone 5s, and we have seen just how powerful it is compared to the competition. Does it deliver in the iPad Air as well? You’ll have to wait for our full review to find out.

Google Smartwatch to be Launched Soon

Adina Porter on True BloodSoon, after a few months, Google will finally launch its most famous smartwatch, following Samsung’s critically panned Galaxy Gear. Google has finally came up with an idea of launching something that is next in line with an answer to the nonexistent “iWatch” of Apple.

On Tuesday, a report came out stating that Google Inc. is planning to launch a smartwatch within the next few months and it is going to be better. It says there that Google’s intelligent assistant Google Now will play a key role on the device, but adds a few details.

“The smartwatch will be able to communicate with other devices such as a smartphone, and draw information such as travel schedules from a user’s email through Google Now,” a source tells in a statement. WSJ also says that Google has been working hard to provide decent battery life on its smartwatch, though the bar has not been set particularly high since Samsung’s Gear only lasts for about one day on a charge. We will let you know as soon as this newest gadget will finally come out in the market.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Might be Plastic: Bad News for Samsung Fans

Samsung Galaxy Note3After a thorough review of the new Galaxy Note 3 phablet of Samsung, we loved what we found out since the device marks the start of Samsung’s war on feature spam. We even called it our favorite Samsung phone ever and we wanted to grab more Samsung phones since we find them very promising in terms of features.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 seems quite very perfect because of its monstrous size compared to their rivals Apple and HTC  which use metals and other premium materials on its smartphones. Aside from the size advantage, Samsung also continues to opt for plastics and, in the case of the Note 3, pleather.

Rumors are coming out saying that the company decides to move away from flimsy-feeling plastics on next year’s flagship Galaxy S5 model, but some of its users do not like the idea of it. A report also suggest that this will not be the case and that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S5 handset will not feature a metal case as had been previously rumored. Instead, the site says Samsung will continue to use plastics for the device’s housing. Specifically, Samsung will supposedly carry the leather-look plastic from the Galaxy Note 3′s case over to the new Galaxy S5.

The report goes on to say that Samsung is indeed working on a new metal phone, but it will belong to a new premium smartphone line referred for the time being as to as “Galaxy F.” This is not the first time we’ve heard rumors of a new premium Galaxy F lineup that will feature metal casings. If you were to be asked, what do you prefer?

LG Display to Launch Curved Handset Display on November

LG Curved DisplayAs mobile users, we often look for a mobile phone that does not only have wonderful and promising specs, but also an appearance that could sink a thousand ships. Something that is unique and adorable, that is what we are looking for in a mobile phone. And looks like LG Electronics Inc. made way for a more enticing appearance for their smartphones and it is bound to be launched next month.

On Monday, the display unit of LG Electronics Inc. said that the company will start the mass production of their newest curved smartphone displays as the South Korean phone maker plans to launch a smartphone with the new screens next month to catch bigger rival Samsung Electronics Co Ltd.

Last month, Samsung said that it will be introducing a smartphone with a curved display this October. Samsung is considered to be the world’s top handset maker and it seeks to set the pace of hardware innovation amid the slowing growth in the high-end smartphone market.

It was just one of the mainstreams of the early stages of development to create curved displays and it seems to be working as it allows bendable and foldable designs in order for the users to have mobile and wearable gadgets that has taken new forms and have radically changed the high-end smartphone market.

LG Display Co Ltd said on Monday it has started production of a six-inch display curved top to bottom. LG Electronics plans to launch a smartphone with the curved display in November, a source familiar with the matter said. Watch out for its scheduled launch on November and be the first to grab one.

Retina iPad Mini Featuring Touch ID Fingerprint Scanner

iPad Mini 2 GoldApple Inc never runs out of new features for its iPhone gadgets and iPad gadgets and as a matter of fact, right now, it’s second-generation iPad mini tablet is expected to be unveiled next month and according to a pair of leaked photos coming here and there, the tablet will seemingly be made available in the same gold and white color combination as Apple’s new flagship iPhone 5s.

On Friday, ZOL, a Chinese language owned by CBS Interactive, published a pair of images it claims to reveal the new Retina iPad mini in Gold. I bet most of the iPhone users are excited to get rid of their old models and replaced with this sleek new ones. Aside from this cool appearance, Retina iPad mini will also include Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint scanner just like what iPhone 5s have.

Apple’s Retina iPad mini is expected to be unveiled alongside a new completely redesigned fifth-generation iPad early next month and both tablets are expected to be released soon after. We have also seen the tablet pictured in Apple’s new space gray color, so it looks like the new mini may indeed feature more changes than just an upgraded display. Take a closer look at it on the photo and imagine yourself owning one of it.
